About my work What I do (click here to see) I research digital literacies and create online learning opportunities for adult learners and educators. I work with organizations to develop e-learning strategies, blended or distance curricula and models for online instructional design. I can help with the big picture planning or work with you to adapt a curriculum to e-learning. I work as a researcher, writer, project coordinator and publisher on projects that move the adult education field forward. I especially enjoy projects that document and communicate educator knowledge in order to strengthen understandings of adult education across fields, sectors and communities. I faciltate workshops for adult learners, educators and community developers on wide range of topics in online, blended or traditional classrooms.   Click on each heading to expand the section and see some of the organizations I have worked with on various projects. Project Coordination, Research and Writing I work as a community developer, researcher, writer, project coordinator and publisher. I have collaborated with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Centre for Literacy of Quebec, Community Literacy of Ontario, the Festival of Literacies, the Labour Education Centre, the Literacy Enquirers, the Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy, the Movement for Canadian Literacy, the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour, the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, the Ontario Literacy Coalition, RiPAL BC, and St. Christopher House Adult Literacy Program. Mousework: A chronology Fieldwork: A portfolio How I got here (the short story) I started in this field working with learners and volunteer tutors at the local school board, community-based literacy program and regional network organization. I was fortunate to work with people who supported an exploratory approach and self-directed learning. Reflective practice evolved into research in practice. I learned that to enrich our practice, enhance our professional judgement and move the field forward, it is essential that we explore, experiment, reflect and "use our own literacy abilities to shape this work that we love." I became the founding publisher of Literacies and worked with the Festival of Literacies to create opportunities for the education community to share ideas and experiences about how research and practice connect and how each informs the other. The funders of these projects changed focus and we all set off to find new places to learn. My portfolio shows what I have been up to.
